Data Deletion

Last updated: 10 October 2026

How to delete the data Syntra holds from connected social media accounts, and how anyone can ask us to delete their personal data.

1.What this page covers

This page explains how to delete the data Syntra holds when a business connects a social media account (such as a Facebook Page, an Instagram account, a Threads profile, a LinkedIn profile or Company Page, a YouTube channel, a Google Business Profile, a Pinterest board, a TikTok account, X or Bluesky), and how anyone can ask us to delete their personal data. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect and why.

2.Disconnect an account in Syntra

The quickest way for a business to remove a connected account and its data:

  1. Sign in to Syntra and open Social > Accounts.
  2. On the account you want to remove, select Disconnect and confirm.

This takes effect straight away:

  • The access token for the account is deleted, so Syntra can no longer read from or post to it.
  • The comments, mentions and messages we collected from it, including the names and profile pictures of the people who wrote them, are deleted.
  • Posts still scheduled to go out to it are cancelled.

Posts already published stay on the platform, because they belong to the account. You can delete them on the platform itself. Our record of them, and the performance figures for them, can be deleted on request (see Ask us to delete your data).

3.Remove Syntra from the platform's settings

You can also withdraw Syntra's access from the platform's side at any time. Menu names vary a little between apps and versions:

  • Facebook - go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations (on some accounts, Apps and websites), select Syntra and choose Remove.
  • Instagram - go to Settings > Website permissions > Apps and websites, select Syntra and choose Remove. Instagram professional accounts connected through a Facebook Page can also be removed from the Page's Business integrations as above.
  • Threads - in the Threads app, go to Settings > Account > Website permissions, select Syntra and choose Remove.
  • LinkedIn - go to Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Permitted services, select Syntra and choose Remove.
  • Google (Calendar, Meet, Search Console, Business Profile and YouTube) - go to your Google account's third-party connections, select Syntra and choose Delete all connections.
  • Pinterest - go to Settings > Security and logins (or Apps), find Syntra in the apps with access and choose Revoke access.
  • TikTok - in the TikTok app, go to Settings and privacy > Security and permissions > Apps and services permissions, select Syntra and choose Remove access.
  • X - go to Settings > Security and account access > Apps and sessions > Connected apps, select Syntra and choose Revoke app permissions.
  • Bluesky - go to Settings > Privacy and security > App passwords and delete the app password you created for Syntra.

Removing access stops Syntra from reading from or posting to the account immediately. To also delete the data we already hold, disconnect the account in Syntra as described above, or ask us to delete it.

4.Disconnect a Google service in Syntra

A business can also disconnect a Google service from within Syntra:

  • Google Calendar - open Settings > Calendar and choose Disconnect. Syntra stops reading and writing the calendar and deletes its access token. Events already created in the calendar stay there, as they belong to the calendar.
  • Search Console and Google Business Profile - in your Syntra website dashboard, open the relevant settings page and choose Disconnect. The access token is deleted straight away.

5.Ask us to delete your data

Anyone can ask us to delete their personal data by emailing hello@syntra.ai with the subject "Data deletion request". Please include:

  • the name of the account, Page or business the request relates to, and the platform (for example Facebook, YouTube or TikTok);
  • your username or the email address linked to your Syntra account, if you have one;
  • what you would like deleted, if not everything.

We may need to confirm your identity or your authority over the account before acting. We will confirm receipt, delete the data within 30 days, and let you know when it is done. We keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and payment records, and we will tell you if anything falls into that category.

6.If you commented on or messaged a business

If you wrote a comment, mention or message to a business that uses Syntra, that business decides how your data is used and is the first place to ask. You can also email us as described above, telling us which business and platform it relates to, and we will work with that business to delete it. Deleting a comment on the platform itself also removes it from what we collect in future.

7.Closing your Syntra account

To close your Syntra account and delete its data, including every connected social account, email us from the address linked to the account. We will delete your data within 30 days, apart from records we must keep by law, in line with our Privacy Policy.
